Interior vs. Exterior
Neither approach is automatically best for every home. Access, foundation type, finished areas and the diagnosed source all matter.
Interior drainage can collect water after it reaches the foundation area and direct it to a sump or suitable outlet. It may limit exterior disruption, but it does not replace every exterior repair.
Exterior work exposes the foundation wall so protection and drainage can be installed directly. It generally requires excavation, access and restoration of affected landscaping or hard surfaces.
